Austin, Texas - November 2007 Very Steep Slopes ... 60 squares 60° F, windy to the ground, sunny New roof on high end home in new development on hillside. The roof deck was clean 1/2" thick, 4' x 8' wood sheathing installed with alignment clips; roof covering was to be tile. Fast Felt® was installed with 1" smooth shank roofing nails via a nail gun |

The roofing crew's field supervisor gave simple instructions "Nail each tab, as marked" and remained confident that the underlayment was secured properly to the roof deck until the tile arrived. He also climbed up the ladder and tried to rip through two Fast Felt® tabs and was personally convinced of its rupture strength. The crew specially noted the more secure feel of working on the roof with Fast Felt® underfoot ... on the extra steep slopes and windy conditions. The felt did not tear or slide around the nails. |
